The meaning of Al'ennui.

Al'ennui - alänˈwē
noun
- The absence of boredom.

Al'ennui is a word I put together using l’ennui and the a- prefix. L’ennui is the French for boredom, more specifically the weariness boredom creates.  I like the way it’s pronounced (which, being French, is nothing like the way it's spelt...). And of course, a- means not or without. I was going to use dis- (negation or removal of) which would make disennui. My dad was quick to point out that sounded like dysentery.

The pronunciation is a little tricky. Alan-wee or A-lawn-wee is pretty close. I don't mind which you choose; either will do. Just please don't say Alan-oo-ey.
